Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa
Lucknam Park, just like Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa, is one our favourite hotels in the UK. They have just released a new promotional video, which displays how exceptional the hotel, it’s facilities and grounds are. Even though this video just offers a snapshot of the hotel, it doesn’t do the hotel complete justice.
At the heart of the 500 acre estate, stands a Palladian mansion, which dates back to 1720. This building forms the centre of what is now called Lucknam Park. As you drive up the main avenue towards the hotel, you covered by 400 lime and beech trees planted in 1827. While adding to the sense of grandeur, the tree line avenue was used in the first world war to park Spitfire and Hurricane planes – with the trees providing the perfect camouflage.
Surrounding the main Hotel is the wellness centre, complete with the informal brasserie restaurant and the equestrian centre. Also included, is the Cookery School, housed in it’s own building and a tennis court – which is tucked away behind trees.
Given it’s formal standing, one might be surprised to find that Lucknam Park is not run in a formal and stuffy manner, but in fact, it is an ideal place to relax.
Since 2001, Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa has been a member of Relais & Châteaux – an association of 500 of the world’s finest hotels and gourmet restaurants in 60 countries.
In the words of our founder, Ashley – “Lucknam Park is understated luxury, minutes from Bath and provides an amazing setting for a relaxing break or even just a lunch which spills over into an afternoon walk around the parkland.”
